XR-EASY - starting guide

Install VR hardware

  • Leap Motion module

  • VR headset

Ultraleap handtracking module

  • Download and install the Leap Motion setup software 4.1.0 from this link

VR headset

  • Install VR headset software from the manufacturer

Please make sure that the latest graphics card drivers are installed:

NVIDIA drivers, AMD drivers

XR-EASY: Download and license

  • Dispatching e-mail

  • License file in the appendix

Connecting the hardware and configuration

Launch XR-EASY

Offline mode (single-user)

Standard mode

  • Use alone in VR or desktop with an imported model

  • Converting files to XVR format

  • No internet/network connection is required

Coop mode (multi-user)

Mode for multiple participants

  • Full functionality of a user using VR hardware and other watching participants in VR or on the desktop

  • An internet/network connection to a session server is required

  • Only XVR files can be loaded onto the session

Before starting the coop VR session, the (CAD) file must be converted to XVR format by the host (go to Files for coop sessions). Other file formats are not supported in coop mode.

XVR file format

The XVR file format "*.xvr" is the format developed by R3DT for the representation of 3D objects in Virtual Reality. Files imported into XR-EASY are automatically converted to a virtual twin of the original file in the XVR file format and saved with an addendum (*_autosave.xvr).
